Titania

Did I ever tell you that my mom was a New Orleans debutante? Man, you should see the pictures. New Orleans is something different for me, having walked its streets as a child and lived in its suburbs for weeks in the summer with my grandparents. It's not all the French Quarter, but much more self-contradicting. I spent a week there last summer with my mother walking the Quarter looking at houses in which my dissertation subject had lived. We also visited both her grandmothers' houses. It was hard to keep the dwellings separated in my mind. For me, New Orleans is at once a part of me and I a part of it. While it's interesting to read an "outsider's" view, I'll never be able to identify.

Kelsey

that is an awsome story
